Compiere Delivers Open Source ERP Solution on EnterpriseDB

Compiere ERP Formerly Available Only on Oracle; New Configuration Gives Customers Vendor Choice and Significant Cost Savings Without Sacrificing Functionality, Performance, or Security

Edison N.J. and Redwood Shores, Calif. – Apr. 8, 2008 – EnterpriseDB, the leading enterprise open source database company, and Compiere, Inc., the global leader in open source business solutions, announced today that Compiere will offer EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus Advanced Server as a database option for its open source enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Compiere. Postgres Plus Advanced Server is an enterprise-class relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs applications written for Oracle databases with little or no modification. Postgres Plus Advanced Server is built on PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database, and enables Compiere to offer its customers a solution having the same functionality, performance, and security as Compiere's Oracle-based offering at a price that is significantly lower.

Previously, Compiere ran only on Oracle. Because Postgres Plus Advanced Server runs applications written for Oracle databases with little or no modification, Compiere, Inc. was able to create a version of Compiere running on the EnterpriseDB database with minimal effort. Postgres Plus Advanced Server also provides Compiere with the performance, scalability, and reliability necessary for Compiere's mission-critical customer deployments.

EnterpriseDB and Compiere also announced that a joint partner, Savoir-faire Linux, has deployed Postgres Plus Advanced Server with Compiere at Enzyme Testing Labs, a premier mobile and video game testing company headquartered in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec, Canada. Savoir-faire Linux chose Compiere's EnterpriseDB-powered offering because it enabled them to keep Enzyme Testing Labs' costs lower without sacrificing database performance or security.

"Postgres Plus Advanced Server has quickly become a popular choice among our global customers," said Stuart Bagshaw, chief operating officer, Compiere, Inc. "We're pleased to provide Enzyme Testing Labs and other customers with a database alternative that leverages open source advantages of transparency, ease of integration, and long-term value. We expect to see many more Compiere customers choose Postgres Plus Advanced Server in the future."

"As a result of our partnership, customers gain the benefits of best-of-breed open source technology across their ERP and CRM applications and database infrastructure," said Andy Astor, chief executive officer, EnterpriseDB. "We're looking forward to working with Compiere to bring choice and value to our growing mutual client base."
