Compiere Launches Community Wiki to Promote Open Source ERP Collaboration

Open Source ERP Leader Contributes New Web Resources and User Documentation to 45,000 Community Members

Redwood Shores, Calif. – Jun. 11, 2008 – Compiere, Inc., the global leader in open source business solutions, today announced the introduction of the Compiere Community Wiki to facilitate collaboration and information sharing across its worldwide 45,000-person community. Compiere's community is composed of customers, users, IT and financial professionals, authorized partners, independent developers, and employees from 195 countries. The company has made available the complete Compiere User Documentation at no charge via the Community Wiki.

"For nearly a decade, Compiere has paved the way in building a large, successful and healthy open source community," said Don Klaiss, president and CEO of Compiere. "Through this evolution, our community and customers have provided valuable insight that has shaped the way we do business. The Compiere Community Wiki is a milestone step in continuing the rapid advancement of our leading open source ERP portfolio and the growth and empowerment of our community."

Compiere this month celebrates the seventh anniversary of its initial release as the market's first open source and model-driven ERP and CRM software. By offering its solutions through a commercial open source business model, Compiere enables customers to reap the benefits of ERP automation at a fraction of the cost of traditional proprietary software products. Compiere applications are built on a model-driven application platform, making it easier for businesses to acquire, implement, extend and, without programming, customize ERP systems to fit their particular business needs.

"I plan to make extensive use the Compiere Community Wiki, both as a consumer and contributor," said Andries Pretorius, CEO of Astidian Systems, a Compiere Silver Partner located near Johannesburg, South Africa. "We applaud Compiere for launching the new wiki and for its continuing ERP innovation. And we're looking forward to working with experienced Compiere professionals and first-time visitors through the Compiere Community Wiki."
